Has anybody else earned significantly less gold from quests lately, since the introduction of the 200G Overwatch quest?
Over the past few months, I've been keeping track of my gold gains, in 21-day blocks to look at the feasability of making 9,500 gold between each hero release. Adding 500 per hero release from hitting level 5, that makes 10,000 to buy a hero when it is reduced in price. But this month, I've been feeling shafted by quests. I've had so little in the way of 600g and 800g quests and I've been absolutely drowned in 200g quests. My gold income this month is parched compared to previous cycles.
First block (don't have a specific point) - 21 days, 9115G
Second block - 21 days, 11,445G
Stukov hitting 10K gold - 21 days, 11,445G (again)
Garrosh - 28 days, 16,250G
Kel'thuzad, and lowering the number of daily games played - 28 days, 13,905G (!)
Ana - 21 days, 9,805G
Junkrat - 21 days, 6,500G with two days to go
And just scrolling through the log of quests daily, I've been getting a lot less of 'play 8 games' and 'win 3 games' and significantly more '2 games from X universe' quests. It feels like they dropped in another 200G quest for overwatch without tinkering with the probabilities.
I mean, make no mistake, it's a free to play game. It should encourage spending some way or another. But the incentive, up to this point, has been, 'you spend real money to get a hero in the first two weeks of its release rather than wait', and that's before you add on loot boxes (which I've bought a significant amount of), and the diciness of the way gems are structured so you're left with some left over.
It's not the fact that the system is the way it is so much so as the fact that it appears to have been changed to encourage even more spending with monetisation schemes already in place. It's not about something not being there, it's about something being taken away.
