Completely messed up my Kodi - again!

I had a pre built kodi and have somehow messed it up once before and had to reset. Use mostly for live football but this was always buffering. Moved BB provider this week to EE and immediately lost everything on Kodi. So I did a factory reset and am trying to manually load add ons etc but I am getting 'no stream' errors and error 404. Nothing plays other than BBC News. Have installed Ares Wizard but none of the add ons open. I am not technically minded at all and really struggling. Having changed BB to get a better picture and less buffering (on superfast fibre BB now) I cant get my kodi working. Really appreciate some very basic steps to get things up and running again. Happy to reset again and go from scratch. Any advice much appreciated!
