Does BCH solve the scaling problem?

Newb here. Trying to understand the scaling problem as best I can, but haven’t come across anyone that has suggested a legit answer for once 7b ppl adopt a new crypto.

Lightning networks and side chains seem like a bandaid for a geyser of a problem to me. Don’t they?
