Had 7.1, moved my rear surrounds to Atmos front presence - am i still 7.1 or now 5.1?

Looking for a little help. I have a 7.1 surround system, and just moved my 2 back surrounds up high for Atmos. In my x-box settings would i still be considered 7.1 uncompressed or now 5.1 since i have 5.1 speakers + 2 front presence?

I did have 7.1, but since i moved the 2 back surrounds in favor for Atmos, i'm not sure what setting to select (if im 5.1 or 7.1 now).

Also do we need to update Atmos on the x-box or does it come with the new Xone x as a standard?

It would now be 5.1.2. The .2 is the atmos part.

I only see 5.1 and 7.1 Uncompressed in my Sound options on the Xbox.

Should i see a 5.1.2 option?

You want bitstream out, then choose Atmos from the bitstream settings

I assume your amp supports atmos and you changed your amps configuration to Atmos from 7.1

Assuming yes to the above, choosing bitstream then dolby atmos from the bottom menu option should work.

The dolby app you should install has a couple of demonstration video.

I think it’s just aco and gow that have atmos so far, but I’m looking forward to trying it out, just waiting for black Friday for aco

Thanks guys - found Atmos and downloading the app now. I assumed i had to put my settings to uncompressed, and not bitstream. Yes my receiver supports Atmos. Any disadvantage of using bitstream atmos over uncompressed? I literally added 2 front presence speakers about 12 feet high in front of me for Atmos - i'm still experimenting.
