you have a 38" stomach. your biceps are fat.

Lose weight.

Even when I was skinny back then, my biceps were basically non-existent. It’s the most stubborn muscle part of my entire body.

Probably cause I’d imagine you didn’t train very hard back then, aka why you were skinny

deafvisionOP•

I’ve been told I was quite muscular by a lot of people back then. They even told me I looked like a model.

I trained hard for sure. My DB curls were 45 lbs each, and I actually lifted with fully controlled, clean form.

Oh my god, 45 lbs? Check out Ronnie Coleman Jr. over here

You're body fat is likely too high. You need to cut if you want to see muscle definition in your arms.

Even when I was fit and muscular at age 22, my biceps were very hard to see. Now, I’m 30, just got back in to workout again, and I still can’t see my biceps very well. Guys with higher bf % still have better looking biceps than mine.

You have different genetics than others. You seem to store fat more on your arms while others may store it in their legs or back etc.

What zach said, but also, you just started working out again you said?

I didn't see shit for a long time. I was 30% body fat a year ago when I started, I didn't see definition til like 15%, and even then it wasn't like massive.

If your arms would be like 16 inches at 6%, you're probably still gonna look pretty damn good at 12-15, which is probably what you're seeing when you say "Guys with higher bf % still have better looking biceps than mine." just on a different scale.

1
deafvisionOP•

I’ll post body pics in few min.

1
deafvisionOP•

Dammit. I can’t figure out how to upload my imgur photo into r/bodybuilding on my phone. Know how to do that?

drlasr2-5 years•

Upload to imgur, copy url and paste url into your comment

1
deafvisionOP•

Finally found the url. Just added pics of my arm and body.

1
deafvisionOP•

It doesn’t have URL option in my imgur app in phone.

Are you sure they aren’t just small?

3
deafvisionOP•

They’re probably really small. Either that or I have thicker bones. I noticed guys with smaller wrists have more impressive looking arms.

I have thicker bones

Don't kill me dude lmfao

6
deafvisionOP•

You don’t think 7.5” is thick enough for wrists?

My calves are 16”.

1
alkapwnee•

I don't think wrist thickness has a lot to do with it, it's related to your max, but like no one looks at your wrist when you do a double bicep pose. How long have you been training and what is your bf%?

I am like 10% same thickness wrists at 14.5 inch unpumped and they look decent. I am curious what you're doing/aren't doing.

1
franticali•

How long have you been going to the gym? Like what are your lifts?

2
deafvisionOP•

My lifts so far are:

Bench press: 135 lbs for reps Squats: 205 lbs for reps Deadlift: 295 lbs for reps (without straps/belt)

I don’t know my max for all my lifts. A lot of idiots don’t know how to spot properly nowadays.

Just got back to workout again since this past summer. Been off and on cuz my motivation was lacking without a good partner. Pretty hard to push myself to go and do it.

1
franticali•

Okay I get you. I've seen your pic and it doesn't look like there's anything wrong with your biceps in terms of their shape/insertion, they just aren't developed. If you eat and follow a routine at least semi-decently you should see results

My arms are measured a little under 15” and I can’t even see my biceps. I’m 5’6”, 175 lbs...

huh... I'm 5'6" 172lb arms at 16in and they're not mind blowing but they're pretty damn decent

I have 38” inch stomach which is very chunky, so maybe that’s why.

LOLOLOL yes.... yes this is why.

Do focus on your arms but more importantly focus on dropping weight buddy. lol

2
deafvisionOP•

I’m trying to. Been jogging a mile to the gym every week. Also worked out on treadmill beforehand.

1
spyykedHobbyist•

you mentioned cardio without mentioning anything about your diet.

Diet is 95% of it. Hell you could probably drop the cardio, fix your diet, and still drop weight easy.

2
deafvisionOP•

Just added photo of my body in my post. This is what I look like. Should I still loose 50 more lbs? That’s a lot of weight to loose.

1
spyykedHobbyist•

The content of the original post got removed.

1
utstudent4trump•

Lose 50lbs and then you'll be at least proportionally small. Then focus on gaining 20lbs nice and slowly.

2
deafvisionOP•

Holy shit! That’s way too much weight to loose. I’m 5’6”, not 4 ft.

I remember when I was around 25 years old, I was the skinniest I’ve ever been in my life, and I weighed 150 lbs. that’s with no visible muscles anywhere on my body.

1
utstudent4trump•

Yeah there were no muscle visible since I suspect you have nearly none. 125lbs puts you at a BMI of 20.2 which is perfectly healthy. At that point your lifts should be around 165/235/275 for b/s/d. Can you lift more than currently? If so, maybe you only need to lose 35-40lbs. But it's very likely you need to drop 50lbs.

2

Simple solution, wear longsleeve shirts and sweaters for the rest of your life /s

Pics?

1

Just added my pics. Sorry about that.
