#Europe
#SK Gaming vs. Fnatic: SK Gaming Won
Fnatic have consistently performed at a middling to lower level as far as European teams go this season, and SK Gaming, despite being dethroned the weekend before this last one and the weekend before that, are still a top tier team. The series was certainly expected to go the way of SK Gaming, and go their way it did 2-0.
#Mousesports vs. G2 eSports: G2 eSports Won
Mousesports has performed somewhat well for the two weekends before this last one, but G2 eSports still remain a consistently stronger team overall. While the series might end up being close, it was tilted in favor of G2 eSports. Indeed, G2 eSports did eventually win out in a relatively clean 2-0.
#Team Qlash vs. Calamity Reborn: Team Qlash Won
With the bottom tier teams finally facing off, one was clear to come out on top and get a few more points on the board in this likely inconsequential series. That being said, who the winner would be was somewhat unclear coming in, as both teams had the same amount of points coming in. In the end, however, Team Qlash pulled ahead in force, taking the series 2-0.
#Dynasty vs. Spacestation: Spacestation Won
Spacestation has been a consistently good team across the board, even getting better in many respects as the season has worn on. Dynasty is more of the opposite story, unfortunately, seeing some solid success early on in the season before seemingly falling off as it progressed. Given those facts, a Spacestation win looked most probable, and it ended up as such, with Spacestation pulling ahead with a clean 2-0.
#Semifinal: SK Gaming vs. Team Qlash: SK Gaming Won
SK Gaming are still easily one of the best teams, if not the best team, in Europe as of now, in sharp contrast to Team Qlash, who got out of quarterfinals for the first time last weekend. All expected SK Gaming to take the series decisively, but they showed unusual weakness in the face of their far worse opponents, leading to Team Qlash pushing the series to a game three. Ultimately, however, SK Gaming did end up winning 2-1, overall.
#Semifinal: Spacestation vs. G2 eSports: G2 eSports Won
While Spacestation has consistently performed, they have been typically outperformed by G2 eSports, especially in recent series. The matchup was certainly in favor of G2 eSports coming in, and they fulfilled that expectation, going 2-0 against their opponents.
#Third Place Series: Spacestation vs. Team Qlash: Spacestation Won
Another matchup severely out of favor for Team Qlash, as essentially all matchups are right now, Spacestation were expected to cleanly sweep. However, Team Qlash managed to put up a solid fight for at least one game, bringing the series to a game three and showing that they could still get in the ring with the best of them. Of course, Spacestation would win strongly afterwards 2-1, but the glimmer of hope and ability from Team Qlash is hopefully a portent of good things to come.
#Finals: SK Gaming vs. G2 eSports: G2 eSports Won
Given SK Gaming’s recent lack of success, it would not have been totally unreasonable to expect that they might end up ceding the series to G2 eSports coming in. Nonetheless, SK Gaming’s stellar past record did lend some doubt as to whether or not the series would be clean or not. In the end, SK Gaming put up a strong fight against their opponents, but G2 eSports were able to come out of the gates in full force, winning the series and the weekend 2-1.

Lance
Picked: 23.1% of all streamed matches
Banned: 0% of all streamed matches
Winrate: 66.7% of all streamed matches
Notes: Lance has fallen off in use entirely this patch, and despite seeing solid success when picked situationally, this remains atypical for a hero who has been almost as much as a staple as Vox since their releases
Petal
Picked: 23.1% of all streamed matches
Banned: 15.4% of all streamed matches
Winrate: 66.7% of all streamed matches
Notes: when Frostburn was reworked such that using it on Petal was more or less entirely suboptimal, it seemed unlikely that she would receive much more play, but Europe and North America both have taken advantage of her good range and Weapon Power amplification on her Trampoline to turn her primarily into a carry

#North America
#Nova eSports vs. Tribe: Tribe Won
Tribe has had some recent successes that have demonstrated that the “live buff” Tribe we’ve come to know and love may not be all that far off from the seasonal Tribe after all. Nova eSports, in contrast, has been relatively inconsistent throughout the season, sometimes placing and playing extremely well and at other times falling flat. With those factors in mind, the series could have definitely gone either way, although it was probably going in favor of Tribe just based off of consistency. Indeed, Tribe would pull ahead, winning 2-0 over their opponents.
#Rogue vs. Hammers: Rogue Won
A matchup just seen the weekend before, Hammers had won that time and were definitely looking to win again. A crucial series for both teams, whoever won this would have a definite shot at the final seed in North America for Worlds, but Hammers needed to win and win decisively to have a real shot at all. However, Rogue came prepared to make their opponents scratch and claw to victory for every match of the series, and, in the end, Hammers were unable to pull through, leaving Rogue with a 2-1 win and a solid shot at the Worlds seed.
#Tempo Storm vs. Gankstars: Tempo Storm
An essentially entirely inconsequential series, whoever won would have the honor of being the second to worst team in the North American Vainglory 8. With Gankstars having a point on the board already as opposed to Tempo Storm having none, the matchup likely should have gone in their favor. Despite that mild expectation, Tempo Storm were prepared to put Gankstars in their place at the bottom of the standings and pulled through the series 2-1.
#Cloud9 vs. TSM: TSM Won
Another crucial series, TSM needed to defeat Cloud9 to have a real shot at the final North American seed for Worlds. With Cloud9 having already secured theirs, their only goal coming in was likely to try and deny TSM the chance to get that seed, if possible. Nonetheless, TSM were prepared to win, and win they did in clean fashion, taking the series 2-0.
#Semifinals: Rogue vs. Tempo Storm: Rogue Won While Tempo Storm surely must have been enjoying their win and were hungry for more, Rogue are not a team to be trifled with, and many expected Tempo Storm to get sweeped because of it. However, Tempo Storm did manage to take advantage of key mistakes by Rogue during one game, taking home a single win before finally ceding the series 2-1 to their opponents.
#Semifinals: Tribe vs. TSM: Tribe Won
TSM has performed strongly this season, although they have had some inconsistent performances. Nonetheless, Tribe is known to suffer from looking worse during their seasonal play. Given that, it would not have been out of line to expect TSM to win the series, but Tribe, just as they had with Nova Esports last weekend, came to play and showed up in full force, sweeping TSM away in a 2-0 series.
#Third Place Series: TSM vs. Tempo Storm: TSM Won
Similar to the series versus Rogue, Tempo Storm’s chances of winning did not look all that high in this matchup. Indeed, the series would ultimately go as expected with TSM winning 2-0 and finishing the weekend just behind Rogue, which is certainly not a great position to secure a seed for Worlds.
#Finals: Rogue vs. Tribe: Tribe Won
Last weekend, Tribe looked stunning in their performances throughout the weekend. Meanwhile, Rogue had performed solidly, even defeating the previous weekend’s winners, Hammers. Knowing that, it was a reasonable expectation coming in that the series would likely be at least somewhat close, but, once again, Tribe showed up to play, leading to another clean 2-0 sweep and putting Rogue only three points ahead of TSM in the race for the final seed to Worlds in North America.

Rona
Picked: 33,3% of all streamed matches
Banned: 33.3% of all streamed matches
Winrate: 100% of all streamed matches
Notes: Rona was a beyond strong pick last weekend, coming in with reasonably high situational priority, as opposed to Kestrel who is a much more versatile and perhaps more commonly picked hero, she was immensely strong in the hands of capable players and in dive compositions
Baron
Picked: 8.3% of all streamed matches
Banned: 0% of all streamed matches
Winrate: 100% of all streamed matches
Notes: a hero who was once prized for his late-game strength, it appears that Baron is too vulnerable and perhaps lacks the same payoff necessary to justify the pick, despite that he made a single appearance in the second game of TSM vs. Cloud9
