C.S. Lewis's quote about love....thoughts?

“There is no safe investment. To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket – safe, dark, motionless, airless – it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. The alternative to tragedy, or at least to the risk of tragedy, is damnation. The only place outside Heaven where you can be perfectly safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love is Hell.”

It's true. However I still will give my heart to animals because they are loyal companions. The only time they really break my heart is when they die. They don't do it maliciously.

I wonder if it's because animals are unaware of their own mortality.

This might apply to love with a woman for some, however I believe that love is still possible and even something still desired but one must remember not to commit its assest that if and when the break up comes your heart might be broken but one still has his dignity and assest he worked for. I do not see loving someone as such a terrible invesment in the sense that indeed I might get hurt quite a bit but still I know eventually I will get over it. With regard to loving animals and other males and family I do not agree with Lewis. Alltough he is right you will get hurt since there might be dead, sickness, falling out, ect, it is not something that needs to be avoided since a strong person knows stuff might suck for a while when things go south be he also knows that eventually things will get better aslong as he works for it.

However a MGTOW should simply not fall into the trap that many woman lay nowadays, so the semantic meaning of love writin by Lewis here is a full on love that one fall into, if you are MGTOW you always will try to avoid this falling, and if you let yourself love a girl always know that it is probabbly temporary. A sad truth but one necessary to protect yourself in a financiel sense, and a dignity sense. So do not offer up things you like for her and become he man slave, simply be your own awesome self and if she not longer want that break up.

Intresteing quote though.

The most comprehensive advice that I've received on the subject of love came from the most unexpected place, "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy."

Aside from the "Don't Panic" advice on the front, the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy had this to say on the subject of love.

"Avoid if possible."

Vulnerability is for chumps. Women love to shame men for being afraid to be vulnerable. Allowing yourself to be vulnerable is an invitation to get fucked over. Women want us to be vulnerable so they can take advantage and suck us dry of all our resources. To that I say no fucking way. Shame me all you want.

As long as I don't have to deal with tradcucks like C.S. Lewis, Hell seems a nice place to be.
