[socjus] This redditor would like to understand how to include LGBT and women in games without provoking KiA's anger.

Easy mode: RPG like Skyrim, let players choose their character's sex, and let them choose companions/relationships of any sex. It makes no sense to present player characters as "T", and unless it's a plotpoint, it makes no sense for NPCs to even mention it even if they were. Pull a Dumbledore after-the-fact, and claim Slinky Snookers the Muscle Man was actually a chick.
Hard mode (there is no normal mode for what these people want): Start off by writing a world, then a plot, then your character and how they fit into that world and plot. THEN you choose their sex; and their sexual preference IF it's relevant to the story. If you wanna write Bioshock Infinite with Becky DeWitt, do so, but don't think it makes sense for the context to have a lesbian chick with a daughter in that time period. Update where appropriate, make it generically-contemporary or in the (near-)future.
And if you wanna do transgender characters, it needs to be relevant. It makes no sense to use a medical condition, namely sexual dysphoria, as a pointless throwaway, if it isn't gonna be part of the plot. Nobody wants to experience that shit in their escapism unless they are sociopaths that fetishize this or want to be creeped/spooked out.
Posts that originate from other subreddits, unless they mention, reference, or allude directly to GamerGate, or KiA, don't belong here. There will be exceptions to this rule in cases of events such as censorship of GamerGate-related topics, multiple subreddits being banned publicly, or major changes to Reddit policy. Basically, the sorts of things that can be shown to have a direct potential impact on the operation of KiA.
Issues with general moderation of other subreddits are better off in r/subredditcancer.

unless they mention directly KiA
?
Rule 5 was a better removal reason.
Okay, fair. He didn't explicitly call for people to post there or tag him, but at least I can understand the reasoning better for removal under that rule.
This guy is specifically talking about KiA is misogynist and kept on railing how "I could not provide him how to not make KiA angry with gayness and femaleness." I thought I'd let the community speak for itself.
I thought I'd let the community speak for itself.
Then it breaks rule 5.
Damn!
And that's just dumb. If your dam is leaking, you focus on the massive leaks first and not the leak that's so small that you barely see it at all.
And yet here you are bitching on Reddit about representation of minorities in video games while gays get thrown off of buildings in the middle east. Hypocrisy, thy name is...
As for the actual question: make a character who happens to be gay, not a gay character. To put it another way: if I think of your character as "the gay one," you have probably very poorly written a character. Examples: Dorian from Dragon Age: Inquisition. A decent example of a well-written gay character: Arcade Gannon from Fallout: New Vegas.
I was gonna tell you not to bother posting this in the automod-removed post, but I thought you might have learned your lesson from automod. Guess not.
Don't post a call to action to downvote some submission on reddit you disagree with. In fact, all links to other subreddits' comment sections will be automatically removed by AutoModerator.
Don't make posts like "let's give that idiot a piece of our mind!" if you come across something stupid someone said on the internet .
If you want to point and laugh then post an archive, but brigading, dogpiling, and call-to-arms posts against individuals will not be tolerated. Rule 2 is a factor regarding whether the person counts as a public figure, if they do not, be certain to anonymize the information. And most importantly, look but don't touch. If you choose to take action offsite in direct response to something posted here, you will be dealt with as having violated this rule, if not sitewide rules.
Random stupid things said by nobodies on Twitter are not allowed to be posted, unless the linked tweet chain shows direct relevance to media ethics-related or major gaming-related issues. A "nobody" is defined as any account with less than 2500 followers, or who otherwise does not meet the "public figure" requirements listed in Rule 2; above that threshold is fine to post, below is not. If you believe an exception is needed, contact the moderators to confirm that it is ok to post.
It should be noted that the subreddits in our sidebar (except where otherwise noted) are whitelisted and their comment sections may be linked to. (This will be updated together with the blacklist)
I can't answer for everyone on KiA (which is not a hivemind), but for me, it's simple. Write them as well-rounded, interesting characters with personalities and preferences and goals. Not 'hi, did I tell you I was the gay one yet?'.
Women in vidya? Where do they get the idea that we don't want female characters in video games?
Sometimes aggravation is caused more by the media coverage of stuff like this than anything to do with the actual game. How many 'finally, video games are getting strong female characters' piece been vomited out now? Yaknow that act like there were no good female characters in games before The Last of Us? Or articles that use female characters as a 'take that nerds!' cudgel?
