What roster moves would you like to see this offseason?

With most of the player contracts expiring tomorrow, we'll soon be flooded with news of all the moves happening. Until then we're free to speculate. So what moves would you like to see until then?

Example: Optic picks up the meme team (Lourlo, Dardoch, Febiven, Forg1ven, Adrian). They go 6-0 in the first 3 weeks but end the season 8-10, barely missing the playoffs, and then blow up.

If Pawn gets good, and has an above average laning phase, keep him. Otherwise

  1. Faker to KT Rolster / or Entire KT but Pawn to SKT

  2. Bdd to KT Rolster

  3. Kuzan to KT Rolster

  4. Rookie to KT Rolster

Longzhu stay together but replace Cuzz with Peanut. Peanut has potential to be the best jungler along with Score, that potential (as weird as it sounds) is wasted on SKT, SKT need a supportive jungler and a tank jungler, not an aggressive jungler.

Beyond to Afreeca Freecs. Spirit inted half his games and is a terrible jungler, he's too bad for a team like AFS. Beyond is incredibl underrated and AFS would make use of him better. Max should join AFS too. TuSin isn't bad, but Max is on a crap team and he's better than TuSin anyway.

No changes to Samgsung Galaxy, and SKT except making Blank the starter

I'd say Deft was more of an issue than PawN towards the end important games

1
PM_ME_KT_RULE34•

Deft always loses braincells when he's against SKT but I wouldn't kick him, he has potential to be the best ADC in the world and I believe he can be. Season 7 is his worst season relative to all others but even then this season he was the best ADC statistically. He has the best DPM of all ADCs, best damage difference to counterparts, best laning stats, and best KDA. He underperformed for sure against SKT all the time, but I'd rather not kick him

Pawn worries me because I don't know how good he can truly become. I have mixed feelings about him. I love him and hope he succeeds on KT but I don't know exactly how good he is it's so confusing. It seemed like he was doing work especially in the beginning of summer and was carrying many games but he got outperformed by faker a couple of times. He was 100 cs down as Taliyah to faker's corki, and got solo killed by faker's Cassiopeia, and almost got solo killed again and used both sums. He has the worst laning stats of all mid laners in LCK, and worst DPM of all LCK.

Deft mechanically can pretty much dumpster every bot lane, I don't worry about that, his issue is that he seems nervous against SKT and gets caught off position to them frequently. It's not even that he loses lane to bang, it's just that out of lane SKT punish his positioning multiple times. I don't know about Pawn's mechanics, I hope they get better in S8 and wish him luck, he's currently rank 4 in solo queue I'm already expecting great things from him

It would be more reasonable for KT Ucal to just split time with Pawn. Also, you would make no roster changes to SKT but making Blank the starter? I think you forgot this /s

1
PM_ME_KT_RULE34•

That would probably expose Blank as a very mediocre jungler I know but I couldn't think of any other Jungler. I don't want Peanut on SKT that's why

Maybe Beyond to SKT would be good but I already said Beyond to AFS, I don't think there are any other junglers that are that great.

1
gordonpamsey•

Peanut and SKT seem like a bomb combo but they do not work together. I hope his time there did not hurt him. I would love to see ROX reunite but that is not going to happen. He is more than likely fine on any other team because they will adjust to him. Also, I agree I think Blank is heavily overrated.

1
Jakaryus•

Score would be a perfect fit. I love Beyond but hes a slightly worse Peanut and we saw how SKT Peanut went

1
Yackberg•

Agreed on #UnleashPeanut. I would really like to see SKT to stick with Blank but get an shotcalling support and top (think Bang/Wolf may be allowed to leave) and get a real mid sub or apply Kkoma(-treatment) to Sky.

The impact of having Easyhoon always felt greater to me since they transformed Blank to almost-Bengi (comparing the change of tempo and playstyle). Imho subs should change the overall playstyle and not having Faker as the main spotlight and point of attention might bring more benefit to SKT than having sub top/jungle.

Smeb, Peanut, kurO, PraY, and GorillA to ROX Tigers

fuskarn_35•

How do you expect pawn to have good laning numbers and dpm when he played a boatload of galio games in summer? not to mention they only had two loses in summer when pawn was playing galio out of total 13 games. dont you think that is success? why would they kick him? and its a little bit over the top to expect mid laners to play better/at the same level as faker

1
PM_ME_KT_RULE34•

I thought that too, that it was Galio that was making his stats worse than they should be, but the thing is AFS Kuro has 9 Galio games and he has the highest DPM of all mid laners in the LCK.

He also has the 4TH highest DPM of ALL players which is very impressive because the top 10 highest DPM players are 70%+ ADCs, the top 3 are ADCs, 4th is kuro whos a mid laner, after that a couple more ADCs.

Bdd has around 11 Galio games and he has the third highest laning stats, and one of the highest DPM of all mid laners.

I just think maybe Kuzan or even better Bdd might be more "stable" Pawns. Kuzan is an outstanding laner who can match up to faker in that regard, and Bdd is a very stable laner and player who excels at getting his side lanes ahead (Smeb, and Deft are the two carries so he'd fit really really well).

I love Pawn don't get me wrong, if I could choose God Pawn VS Bdd/Faker/Whoever, I'd instantly choose Pawn. I am just a bit harsh on him because I really want him to do well. He's rank 4 in solo queue and seems to be try harding, I hope we see him succeed

2
fuskarn_35•

thats pretty reasonable i guess we will see what kt thinks

If TSM kicks their botlane, my dream team is probably DL/Bio, PerkZ, Xmithie, and Flame/Ssumday

Or, DL/Bio and Xmithie to Echo Fox.

5
Life_Sucks_as_ADC•

lol this is certainly an interesting situations. TSM fans are usually Doublelift fans, or Bjergsen fans.

Are you going to be a fan of TSM if the botlane gets kicked? or a fan of the team doublelift goes to (assuming the team is a stacked roster and not dumbshit like Goldenglue mid)

Who do you like more Perkz or Bjergsen? Hauntzer or Flame/Ssumday?

1
IsiwjeeOP•

Not the guy you replied to but I'll still be a TSM fan even if DL leaves. I'll also cheer for whichever team DL joins in that case, but not as much as TSM

2
melo8•

For me, Doublelift was the reason I started to play and watch lol. So I will be a fan of the team that he goes.

2
hiero_•

Are you going to be a fan of TSM if the botlane gets kicked?

If DL leaves, I will not longer be a TSM fan.

I like Bjerg and Hauntzer more than the other two options, but they would be fantastic options to have.

1
Babbasen•

Idk I feel like best TSM roster possible would be hauntzer/xmithie/bjerg/zven/mithie and DL/Bio/Sven/luorolo sub but even cant play when mithie/zven are out cause of import slots

1
MrFrappaOverlord of the Saltmines•

None, I just want EU to keep their players so we can enjoy high quality EULCS.

4
crustyxxxslew•

I have been a TL fan since they were Curse before the LCS even existed. All I want is for Steve to drop all the baggage and start fresh now that TL's spot isn't as risk of being lost. They just kept players to scrape by and even had to get hired guns to not get relegated.

After picking up the contracts of Pobelter, Xmithie, and Cody Sun, they have the chance to be creative with their roster and use both import slots if they drop Piglet which they 100% should. my ideal line up with what we know could be a possibility would be Ssumday, Xmithie, Pobelter, DL, and Biofrost. With that said, I honestly don't think DL will leave TSM as he's on his way to retiring sooner rather than later so he will likely just do whatever TSM wants to do and Bio will likely stay as well doing a swap system between the two duos with Zven and Mithy rumored to be going to TSM. A more realistic line up could be Ssumday, Xmithie, Pobelter, Cody Sun, and Olleh. Is this a team that will contend at worlds? Probably not, but they should be able to contend in NA and see where that takes them.

If TL keeps players like Piglet, Matt, Goldenglue and Dardoch they have learned absolutely nothing and I give up. Lourlo has been solid but when you have an import slot you go after someone like Ssumday without question if you are serious about winning.

3
bearmantron•

Same boat as you, fan from Curse days. This is the last chance I am giving the org. Steve seems like a good guy but he definitely has issues managing players.

3
crustyxxxslew•

Steve has made plenty of mistakes in the past but I feel like a lot of those mistakes were due to the constant stress of being relegated and losing your job essentially. I'm going to give him my support in the new franchise system and see how the team turns out with high hopes of the team being fine. High hopes and TL don't gel together well but I've been disappointed enough that it's normal for me now.

3
bearmantron•

Absolutely, I also feel like he really invested and believed in Piglet too much. He clearly hasn't worked well with any iteration of TL. I think its time to move on from ole Piggy. Even if he is still a great player.

2
gordonpamsey•

These are all independent of each other.

  1. Longzhu is dissolved and their players join the top teams

  2. Marin back to SKT

  3. Peanut to LZ

  4. Beyond to Afreeca

  5. Teddy to SKT

  6. Picaboo to SKT

  7. Huni and Reignover join a team

  8. UmTi to Afreeca

  9. Duke and Ssumday back to Korea

  10. Not a roster change but I want to see Crown back into form

3
LigerZerOJaegaer•

winning worlds wasnt enough ? for crown

1
gordonpamsey•

Crown is out of form and I would like to see him get back into it. He seemed to have lost that competitive drive which is sad. Because he was a massive grind lord. Also winning worlds does not equate to being good Bengi can attest to that.

1
LigerZerOJaegaer•

idk he was still spamming soloq before worlds wasnt he?

maybe they just need some time off

1

This is on a small scale, but I really want one of the new teams (Optic, Guardians, Thieves, whoever) to pick up Lira, Hakuho, Pobelter, Altec, and Flame or Ssumday. I think that Hakuho is probably the best NA support available right now, and he's said in interviews that he's likely to try and stay with Lira. Lira does take up an import slot, but he's probably the best jungler in NA atm, given his mechanics, macro and teamfighting. I don't really feel like there's a native NA top available right now that's on a LCS level, so using the second import slot on Ssumday or Flame seems right to me. Pob is, imo, the best NA midlaner available right now, so he'd fit right in. And Altec, while not the best ADC on the market right now, is consistent enough that I think Hakuho could make him shine in lane phase. I think that it might be an expensive team to put together, but I think that that roster could easily compete at a high level almost immediately.

1
mamricca•

I would like Locodoco to bring madlife with him to GG, and it would not surprise me if DoubleLift went to one of the NBA new teams. (please doublelift-madlife botlane please)

1
IsiwjeeOP•

I feel like Madlife would be a waste of an import slot at this point, and I don't think DL would work well with Loco.

Now what would be interesting is if Loco convinced Mata to come to NA

1
Draguh•

madlife? madlife is a legend but he just playing for money now, he is not worth having and giving away an import slot.

1
Draguh•

Smeb and Score to SKT, Peanut to LZ and Beyond to KT.

If Zven and Mithy to TSM rumor is true, i would love to see DL & Bio to play somewhere else.

I would love to see an all American roster that looks really competitive. Flyquest may manage that, but with their only roster change being picking up Stunt so far I'm not sure what to expect from them. I'm really excited to see the rosters of the new teams!

Given that an all American roster is unlikely, I want to see an organization with great infrastructure. Players seem to come and go, and while they are the ones we see most, I am paying close attention to staff picks like Optic picking up Romain Bigeard, 100 Thieves picking up Pr0lly, or TSM enlisting Ssong.

I don't have a favorite player right now. It used to be Dardoch around the time of the Xmithie/Dardoch trade, but after yet again failing to fit in with a team I'm not sure what to think of him either.

Given that the domestic talent pool doesn't seem deep enough to put together an internationally competitive roster right now while competing with other orgs for free agents, I'm looking for the org who plays it smart. Yes, importing Faker (I know, not going to happen, just an example) would instantly give you an S tier mid lane, but with the language and culture barrier I don't feel like he would shine here in NA. Ssumday wasn't enough to get DIG through season 7, I just don't buy into the idea of picking up individually talented players with no chemistry and jamming them together. I love watching players like Ssumday and Flame, I just don't think they are in a position to bring the best out of a North American roster.

Another thing that is really important to me is public relations. To use Flyquest as an example again, I saw literally no content from them in season 7. Even with their losing streak i was open to supporting them, but how do I fall in love with a team if all I ever get to see are their name plates on a stream? That's such a massive mistake. How many people are fans of TSM because of their YouTube channel and all the content they put out? I'm very infrastructure-centric at this point. Maybe Bigeard is the all-star there.
