The Give Yourself Goosebumps series ran alongside the original series from 1995 to 2000. Starting in 1998, every few months there would be a Give Yourself Goosebumps Special Edition released. This subseries had its own numbering system, but really wasn't too different from the GYGB books. When looking through ebay lots, they do seem to be much less common. On their own, they fetch a high price on ebay and amazon. That is, unless you search for the individual book title (for instance, "into the jaws of doom" instead of "Goosebumps Special Edition"). You may get lucky and find something like a Goodwill Industries Idaho that doesn't bother to check prices.

This system has worked for a few of the Special Editions, but one has eluded me. Return to Terror Tower was a Special Edition sequel to A Night in Terror Tower, the book from the original series that had a very popular episode ( I remember it airing on FOX primetime back in the day). Because it's a little known sequel to a popular book in an obscure subseries it has a high price. In fact, it's the most expensive Goosebumps book i have seen in wide release (meaning: outside of Haunted Library and Screams in the Night). So how did I find it for 5 Euro? In America?

The Amazon Store it came from is really big. I see it all the time when i look at prices of used books. They are a powerseller who sell used paperbacks for 1 cent and 3.99 shipping. I can only guess that they accidentally listed a book on amazon.fr by mistake.

So I was looking around on bookfinder.com trying to find the cheapest copy (rarely under $30, usually $60-$70). I saw one for one cent listed on the french Amazon site. I thought it was too good to be true that it was located in Nevada. I logged in (Same info as amazon.com but strangely your purchase history is different) and took a risk buying it. I expected to receive a copy of the plain old vanilla original Terror Tower from the main series. It came in today, and not only is it legit, but it's also pristine.

This tiny little victory has made all the searching high and low worth it. It's such a weird thing, but bookfinder searches international amazon sites, so if there's a rarity you would shell out 5 bucks for, there's the weirdest trick in my bag o' tricks.

Very nice. The site is bookfinder.com? I'll need to update the sidebar with this new info.

Unrelated, but I remember this being my favorite book. It was like a dnd-style role playing game with a fantasy map and inventory. I've never read another book like it.
