Electrum Won't Connect.

I've seen numerous posts around the web woth others having the same issue. I've tried just about everything susggested: *Reinstall *Reboot *Disable all security software *Add Firewall exceptions *Fiddle with various settings in network options *Use both 'exe and auto install options *Use of specific know good servers

Nothing works. I'm wondering why would anyone use this type of wallet to store funds that's turns out to be so fickle?

Any suggestions for another wallet that's reliable?

Thanks.

It isn't fickle at all for 99% of users. It usually just works. So you have some problem that needs to be worked out. First - what version are you using? If you haven't upgraded to the most recent (3.0.2) then do that before anything else.

Yeah I agreee that it does seem to be working for most, but connections issues seem to be a common complaint. I have 3.0.2 and trying to make it work in Win 7 environment. I DL'ed the reccommended securiy patch which fixed an initial python and CRT issue.

Reading other connection issue threads on their site I noticed a reccomendation to delete header and server files and restart app. After doing that the header file recreates and grows to about 37 MB in size, so 'something' is happening there. But after waiting for 2 hours app still shows no connection. Server file never reappears so that's probably a clue.

so you've tried changing the server? You have to right click on one of the servers in the list on the network window and choose use server. left clicking doesn't do it.
