How to make Google Photos play nice with SD card?
I recently got a Note 8, and use the Samsung Gallery as my main way of viewing photos. I like using Google Photos to edit most of my pictures. When I only used the built in storage, editing in Google Photos would update the original file right away. Now that I'm using an SD card, edited photos are placed in a separate folder (PhotosEditor) on device storage. Google Photos shows two of the edited photo, and Samsung Gallery shows one of each.
After sorting through a bunch of duplicates I thought I had a half-assed way of sorting it out, even though the edits were still stored on the device. I've just noticed that whatever method I was using means that they are no longer backed up to Google Photos...
Is there anyway to get Google Photos to just overwrite the original files when they are stored on an SD card?
