Horrorlit's Poll! The Top Ten Horror Novels of All Time!

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS

Why is it? We're called r/horrorlit and that means we should be the go-to place for horror literature, so let's come up with our canon list of the TOP TEN ALL-TIME GREAT HORROR NOVELS OF ETERNITY! We did this four years ago, but we're bigger and badder now, so let's do it again!

What is it? Any novel is eligible. The ten novels with the most upvotes will make the list, the rest will die screaming. Novellas are eligible so Henry James's Turn of the Screw and H.P. Lovecraft's four novellas/short novels count. SHORT STORY ANTHOLOGIES DON'T COUNT, so no Books of Blood by Clive Barker or Skeleton Crew by Stephen King.

THE RULES

• FORMAT: Keep it simple and keep it standard. Book Title - Author's Name - Year Published. So, for example: The Shining - Stephen King - 1977. Feel free to include an embedded Wiki link if you want.

• REPOSTING: for the love of all that is holy, don't do it. Ctrl-F to see if your favorite is already on here, then take a deep breath, and upvote it. I'll be doing my best to delete reposts, but we must all work together to make this poll a repost free zone or we will all break out in screaming boils, each one a tiny anguished face going "EEEEEEEEE!"

• VOTING: vote UP for the books you like, but don't downvote the books you dislike.

This poll will be active for two (2) weeks to encourage as much participation as possible. Please upvote this post to keep it at the top of r/horrorlit and in the forefront of everyone's mind. Now let's go out there and make us a canon!

Note on The Future

We will be doing a Top 10 Greatest Horror Short Stories poll soon to replace the old one, so don't panic, short stories will get their day in the sun, too.
