This sub has grown exponentially over the last year and we would like to continue encouraging quality posts. Posts like [this compilation from u/nopolarbears](https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/5gv8h9/my_industry_comparison_of_financials_and/) have been instrumental in creating meaningful discussion in the community.

In order to ensure that the quality of comments and posts remain high, please read the following rules, guidelines, and helpful resources. We will update this periodically, so if you have suggestions, please message us

###Complete List of r/weedstocks Rules

1. Please read the Wiki and use the search bar before posting. The Wiki contains a wealth of information for beginners that can help answer common questions that deal with how to invest in general.

2. Common questions like “How do I invest in weedstocks?” or “I have $1000, which weedstock should I invest in?” will be removed and you will be encouraged to re-post it in the daily discussion post. Simple requests such as requests for level 2/market depth should be posted in the daily discussion thread.

3. This is a subreddit for the effective communication of stocks. When posting/commenting, users are expected to:

• stay on topic, maintain decorum, and respect other users at all times;
• disclose any open positions when discussing a particular stock or financial instrument;
• provide context and insight with links and flairs (empty posts with links will be removed);
• titles must be descriptive, no click-bait titles, use article's actual title in post's wherever possible (vague or editorialized titles will be removed);
• Pumping of stocks is strictly prohibited. All blatant pumper posts will be removed.

1. All discussion should be related to publicly traded companies in the marijuana sector. Posts or comments that are not related directly to these stocks will be removed at the discretion of the mods including:

• spam, ads, business solicitation, and self-promotion posts or comments;
• trolling, insults, or harassment, especially in response to comments asking for advice;

1. This subreddit requires user accounts to be at least 7 days old in order to post. If your account is less than 7 days old, your comments will be removed by the auto moderator and you will have to ask for manual approval by the mods. This helps prevent people from creating accounts in order to pump stocks and promote their websites/services.

2. This subreddit requires the use of flairs for users to easily access posts they want to read. Please add the correct flair after submitting content. Here are some examples of flairs and when to use them:

NEWS = Content with big breaking news, i.e. legalization in a state, country, province / companies merging, buyouts, getting licenses

PRESS RELEASE = Anything from a company or articles that start with "X company is pleased to announce". Press releases must be linked from the company website when possible. Repackaged content for the purpose of generating traffic to a specific websites will be removed.

REPORT = Short pieces of news that's not that exciting, not a press release, but still objective, i.e. congress debates marijuana legalization, X province due to make announcement on legalization, results of a poll.

EDITORIAL = Anything that doesn't fit into above OR is clearly an opinion piece speculating the MJ market, legalization, effects, benefits, companies. Also, super lengthy in depth reports.

MY TAKE = You are providing your own detailed analysis of a company or news event.
