P&MS supervisor used as MOD
How many p&ms supervisors have opening or closing mod shifts. I have not had a p&Ms shift in 2 weeks.

That sucks. I used to have an MOD shift once a week but we don't have any PMS associates so they can't afford to do that anymore. If they need an employee covering a role they'll do it regardless of position. I used to be cashier almost every shift when I was a CPC associate. Who else do you have who can MOD? They should make the Tech Supe do it; they're superfluous.
We have 5 key holders including myself.
Are you just so chock full o PMS associates they think they don't need you?
I have 4 and two of them can only work weekends or after 6.
Holy shit 4?! I'm exaggerating when I say I have no one- I have one who works one weekend day. No one else. So count yourself lucky and talk to your GM. Say you want time over there to drive numbers, coach upselling, refine process, and elevate the standards of quality and service in the department.
I do it once or twice a month, but I volunteer. I also used to be an Ops sup so I'm pretty proficient in the role.
I was the tech sup before I slid over to copy.
Never happens at my store. No GM I ever worked under let the PMS or MTS be mod.
When I was P&MS sup, every M-F morning I was morning MOD. Back before I was Ops Sup when it was CPC instead of P&MS, I also had a key when doing MOD shifts
Our Print & Marketing Supervisor doesnt have key. only for 3 keyholder. it sucks!
I've never opened or closed the store (aside from opening registers in the morning occasionally). We've got 7 keyholders (GM, SM, IS, Tech Sup, CPC Sup, Ops Sup, and CPC associate) so there's almost always someone else available to mod.
I'm the CPC supervisor and I'm a key holder. My shifts are almost always 7-4 Mon-Fri , however I the only key holder in the store and the only copy and print associate until 12 most days. Our lock up is located on the polar opposite of the store from print center so I'm juggling a line of customers but booking it to tech for overrides and items from lock up for my cashiers. It's kinda funny though because if you check our tapes there just me running like a mad man through our store. Our store used to be a walmart so it's HUUUUUUGE. Sometimes they schedule me on the weekend to cover other MOD shifts and that's nice cause i'm actually MOD. The bummer is I don't get the 1 hour breaks all the other mods get , It's a damn miracle if I take a break at all. I also live the closest to the store so guess who gets all the alarm calls!
I hope you make a lot of money.
Yeah we are the only dept that surpasses our budget every quarter. We surpass so many stores too in utilizing the rush fee too. So that's boosting us up so much.
Never, my p&m supervisor never leave CPC, she has override numbers but does not have any keys (she's doing this intentionally so SM GM can't push any more responsibilities on her), I'm 95% sure she doesn't even have numbers to turn on or off the alarm (I know they can probably create it for her in a heartbeat but again she does not want them (or has them and never uses them)). My p&m doesn't even get involved in the Affairs of the store unless we have all 4 registers helping check out customers and lots of customers in line CPC starts to ring up customers but besides that NEVER.
Alarm code is the only thing I don't have. I rarely use my keys/numbers for anything but myself. But that has more to do with the fact that we have 7 keyholders and we only average around $12k-$15k per day.
Nope my store only has 5 key holder, CPC sup only has override numbers and 3 or 4 people have return numbers. Store average $7-10k per day.
I'm P&M Supervisior at my store but don't even have numbers. Keep asking for them b/c the one before me had them and then I could back up the weekend MOD when the truck comes.
I wish. I should honestly speak to my GM about this. Cause I've been with the company since I was 16 and I could/Should be making more. The copy and print associate that's only been here for 2 years makes only 50c less than I do.
In my experience, you have to fight for every penny. You can be the best they've got and they will not pay you what you're worth to them unless you're walking out the door leaving them in an impossible situation. Even then you'd better be aggressive- they won't pay a penny more than the least you'll accept. Typical retail, from what I've heard.
Yeah, copy centers can be almost all of your stores profit. If he wants that store to comp you need to be in the copy center with help. Last year we did 60% of the stores profit.
can be almost all of your stores profit.
And more. A year ago, my department was 200% of the store's operating profit.
Mine never has. They have too much going on to be assigned to MOD duties. On occasion they may jump in to help someone, open high ticket, talk to a customer.
That's how they use me. Plus answer employee questions, the phone, do overrides, get the back door, check CSAT (the DM has us checking hourly and calling him on his cell if we get below a 5), etc. I'm of course still expected to get the whole day's worth of jobs done in 9 hours though since there's no one to hand off to and no one's really cross trained.
Pretty much what I've got too. Granted we're also super short handed so everyone is doing 2-3 jobs
