Monacoin mining on Suprnova - hashrate question

I'm using ccminer and suprnova's pool. The miners are all very stable in the hashrates they report. All together, they are producing about 246-266 MH/s based on their client-side reporting. According to suprnova, my hashrate is around 200 MH/s.

I am not getting many stale/rejected shares at all. I don't understand the discrepancy. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

I think there's something funky going on with ccminer Lyra2Re2 and pool mining. It's not just suprnova but other pools as well. Mine starts off well and slowly drifts down to 145-150MH after an hour or so (from 190MH on ccminer). For now I'd mine something other than Lyra2Re2

If anyone has overcome this issue please let us know what version of ccminer / settings you're using.

I read somewhere yesterday that some people were just using Vertcoin's One Click Miner by putting the Mona Stratum into "My pools" and then the worker user and password into the remaining fields.

It's working much better for me in getting in on those lucky coins (ie ~5-10 luck), as well as just being more consistent on the pool. Though, like with anything, if the miner sends all the jobs at once and then takes a while to send more, the pool's hash rate for you will dip and then spike.

Pool reported rate is inaccurate... Use what your miner says

Yeah it's not updating correctly either.

Hey so I experience the same problem and at first thought there was something sketchy going on but I did the math for how much I should be making a day with my rig of six 1070s on Mona and it's making the right amount if not more if it worries you just figure out how much mona you should be mining a day or just check on whattomine how much you should make a day and make sure it matches up. I just came to accept that the figures shown on suprnova are inaccurate

This is part of why I'm questioning it:

  • My hashrate is right at 245 MH/s
  • Coinwarz says that should produce 2 mona/day
  • I had a payout from suprnova at 3:30am, local time.
  • That was almost exactly 12 hours ago, so I should expect my balance to be 1 mona.
  • Actual balance in .688 mona. Even accounting for unconfirmed earnings (0.167 right now), that's still 15% under what ccminer's hashrate implies I should be earning.

Was your rig slowing down or experiencing any connection issues? What's your set up? Im asking because mine is basically the same as yours im mining at roughly 250 MH/s without overclocking but I'm expecting 1.5 Mona a day from it. Also I noticed something that mining in 2997 was actually producing just a little less than 2995 which one of those are you mining in? I'm not sure it could account for such a big difference tho

I don't know of any connection issues or heat issues. It's cold here right now, so I keep the heat off upstairs and let the rig keep it warm. I'm not sure what you mean by 2997 vs 2295. Is that a block number? I'm using ccminer 2.2.3, 5 1070 ti, 1 1070, one 960, one 950. Three different machines.

In the bat file there's a part you input 2995 or other ones it shows up in suprnova too were it shows 2995 (recommended) idk if it plays a big role or not because I noticed a very minor difference that could be explained by anything. I see so you're expecting a combined amount of 2mona with all the rigs running?

Also how much MH/s are you getting from each 1070ti? Do you think it's better than the 1070? I was thinking about getting some instead but feel like just sticking with what I am familiar for now at least

If you're on a smaller pool you can't look at those short sort of timescales. The pool gets mona when they mine a block. If the pool doesn't find a block for a while, you get nothing.

That's how mining works.

I've mined some coins with really small pools, where you can go 4-8 hours at a time without finding a block - if you want to look at your earnings rate you have to look at the income you get averaged over a few days at least.

The numbers have been pretty consistent over two weeks now. The example above was just me looking specifically at payouts/time to see if the hashrate that suprnova presents was just wrong. The payout is consistent with the hashrate they present, not with the hashrate that ccminer presents.

Having this issue as well I'm at 115 MH/s rock solid yet it drifts from 90 to 100 MH/s on supernova

suprnova has bad luck with finding blocks, 110% overall what does mean u earn less than u should on average calculations. I recommend other pool for mona something like miningpoolhub but has higher pay out fee tho and fees on the pool... both have a downside u choise i also notice share difference on miners. i used the oneclick vertcoinminer on the pools and my average shares got higher.

yeah, I was talking to a coworker, and we came to the conclusion that suprnova's luck must be the key to the difference between actual and theory payout. Thanks!

Ye i think some people putting fake shares on the pool, i dont know much about it to xD i have only heard about it onces in a video i watched... On al the days a 10% difference is huge..

just noticing a lot of 'bad luck' in this pool too. the pool failed to find a single block for 17 blocks between 1189419 and 1189436.

what are the odds for the group to wield approximately 30% of the networks hashing power, yet feature so poorly in the results?

edit: can someone check my math?

at one third the hashing power of the network, for any given block the group has a 2/3 chance of NOT finding a block.

chance of not finding 17 consecutive blocks is 1/(2/3)^17 or 1 in 5,907?

So many people have posted this exact same question since nicehash went down. Use the search function on the sub.

Sometimes the website gest my hashrate really accurate, sometimes it doesn't.

I think it's because it takes spot readings, and at a certain point in time your hashrate might actually be varying.

I have no reason to believe many of the pools most of us use aren't skimming hashrate. On two main pools I was receiving ~60% of the payout I should have been.

If true.. Wish someone would get to the bottom of this; these pool hosts probably are making tens of thousands a day on stolen hashrate.

I do not think being told your hashrate is at 60% of what it is reported as in your minor is "bad luck".
