SGI running afoul of religious tensions in India?

There's been a brouhaha over proselytizing religions, primarily Christians being pushy assholes, over in India, with the Indians rightly recognizing Christians' genocidal intent and pushing back, including with legislation that prohibits enticing conversions through "force, fraud, or allurement".

Here is a recent article about a Hindu group that has lodged a formal complaint against a Christian priest for pushy proselytizing.

And what is SGI known for? PUSHY PROSELYTIZING!

Someone from India recently recounted how she was told that chanting the magic chant was simply a personal development technique, and she was shocked to learn SGI's real intent (as clarified from SGI's own publications). So this type of bait-and-switch is just as likely from SGI as it is from Christians.

I remember hearing in the early 1990s how the SGI was targeting the Dalit "untouchable" caste for conversion in India.

In Nov. 2015, Bharat Soka Gakkai (SGI - India) set a goal of converting 100,000 Indian youth by Nov. 2017. It was reported to us that as of October 2017, Bharat Soka Gakkai had just 4,000 youth. Typical SGI fail, but the point here is that whenever an SGI location makes one of these "goals", it means an aggressive conversion "campaign" in which the SGI members are exhorted to go out and make utter nuisances of themselves attempting to browbeat others into converting. Congratulations to the people of India on seeing through this shallow, predatory cult.

Expect more entertainment out of India, in other words.
