The weapon is added to the Mercury loot pool and can drop from Vance, Hawthorne and Cayde (when Mercury is the flashpoint)

No reforging. Once you forge the weapon on Mercury it gets added to Vance's loot pool so rank him up & try your hand at RNG.

Do you have proof of this? I've been grinding mercury tokens since everyone seems to say Vance has the weapons in his pool now... might be bugged might be RNG, fml

Thanks for the replies, I fear the worst having to grind mercury tokens with so little there.. also just realized that if I really reaaaallly wanted it you can unlock the forge on another character.

No, creating a new character will not help. The prophecy weapon offerings are shared across your account and are not offered once per character (thank goodness, the grind on one character was enough). The ones you have completed are now in your loot pool and can drop from multiple sources, so you'll get it again eventually.

Wow you just saved me from going down a dark and grindy path, I guess I'll go grind every last thing I can out of Mercury, thanks all

Has anyone legit had a copy of a forge weapon drop for them, Vance is useless if he just gives you regular legendaries since you can buy the armor individually now for tokens.

I've heard about this, just have yet to see one drop from a Vance engram... although it has only been like 4 engram attempts
If you inspect the engram you can see them in there. I got a second #6 on another character.
Another day, another person who thinks the engram previews matter. Say it with me: the preview has no effect on the drop
