How to export your private keys from Coinomi into a Core Wallet

Tutorial

Credit for this goes to u/bocyaj.

####You need to have the Core Wallet version 4.1.0 fully synced in order for this correctly work. Before you begin make sure your Core Wallet is encrypted.

  1. Go to https://coinomi.com/recovery-phrase-tool.html.

  2. Put in your BIP39 recovery phrase and select 18 as the number of words.

  3. If you have a passphrase also put that in to the right field.

  4. As Coin select NavCoin from the drop-down.

  1. Scroll down. It will show all addresses with private keys in that wallet.

  2. Go to https://chainz.cryptoid.info/nav/ and put in each address to check if the address has any coins on it.

  1. If you find an address with coins on it import that to the Core Wallet. Go to Help -> Debug Console and enter importprivkey <YOUR PRIVATE KEY>. The importing process can take several minutes. Use the meantime to keep searching addresses with a balance.

Note: I used a randomly generated private key in this example. Please never share your private keys with anyone, they grant full access to the address.

  1. After you are done importing all of your private keys with balance make a new backup. Go to File -> Backup Wallet. Save the file in multiple locations. If you lose this file or your encryption passphrase you will lose access to your coins.

Please report back if this worked. If you run into any issues let me know here or join our Discord.

I have worked out a slightly more elaborate troubleshooting sequence for this issue. You can have a look at it here. https://steemit.com/navcoin/@vbtradescrypto/how-to-transfer-nav-coins-stuck-in-coinomi-using-private-keys

Is it possible to import into navpay (the android app). My pc can't sync to the latest block (I have tried downloading the github source, but it just doesn't move to the latest one) (I suspect my isp is blocking the peer nodes).

This instruction works. The only caveat is your NAVcore wallet has to be synced (if you are using this for the first) and it takes a lot of time. Be patient while going through the steps.

Great to hear that

you seem like the perfect person to ask. I have been trying to recover my coinomi wallet with no success and no response from coinomi tech team yet. I have my 18 word recovery phrase but the app only asks me to enter 3 words? is this normal? When I load the coins they all show zero holding, which is not good obviously. I would appreciate any advice. Im mostly concerned about my NAV coins as its a decent amount.

If you have the 18 word recovery phase you can follow the steps in the post to get access to your funds

The cryptoid link seems down, is there another site we can use for this?

I am not aware of any other block explorers, it looks like its temporarily down at the moment, shouldn't take too long imo.

The link provided here in incorrect. https://chainz.cryptoid.info/nav/ This is the right one.

Is it ok if I share an external link for a little more elaborate troubleshooting steps.

As long as they don't include ref links of any sort you are free to do that
