Although I agree we need a level playing field on console, this post really exaggerates the amount of kbm users. Basically if you have aim smoothing below 50, you will get blamed for having kbm. A lot of people are just salty so they blame enemies for having kbm input. You see it on YouTube even, any decent console OW players have been called out for using kbm, even when they prove they aren’t.

I agree. I’m on 100 sensitivity with 0 aim smoothing and I get accused of keyboarding constantly.

I went up 10 sensitivity (or down 5 aim smoothing after my sensitivity was maxed) once I was comfortable with it and eventually it was easy to control. I don’t use control freaks or anything by the way.

Has this actually been an issue for many people? I've been playing for over a year now and can't say I've ever noticed anything that wouldn't be possible with a controller. Granted, I haven't played much comp and was only in plat when I did placements.
If anything, for Xbone players at least, having the $150 Elite controller seems like a significant advantage (with certain heros at least) and there isn't any concern over that.
*For the unfamiliar, the Elite controller has additional paddles on the bottom so you do not have to take your thumb off the stick to jump or whatever; also swappable sticks with different heights and shapes.

Since you mentioned it, did the kontrolfreek make an obvious improvement for you? I mostly play 76 and Zen, had considered getting them.

As I side not get real control freaks not knock offs. Knock offs were causing my sticks to stick when pressed far left or right. Control freaks have been fine

Change jump to left stick and you don't need the elite controller.

This is what I do (except for certain heroes like Lucio where I swap things to put jump on left trigger), but your xbox controller will develop stick drift sooner.

Mid-High diamond on Xbox. Have a lot of people that are proud of using mouse and keyboard and will even let you know that they're using it. At least one every game at the time I play 8pm-2am on OCE.

Currently, we cannot do anything about players using input conversion devices to use Mouse and Keyboard on console.
However, we have put serious research and development against this problem and we're hoping to have a solution to what we consider to be unfair circumstances. This is a priority for us and we're trying to combat this through technology and policy.
We'll keep you informed on our progress and any policy changes as soon as they develop.
For now, please avoid reporting this behavior.
Basically don't report them they will announce a plan to combat what is considered unfair circumstances(ie mouse and keyboard) from their research and development team

How can you tell if someone is using keyboard and mouse on console?
Audibly hearing it on mic? This is kind of concerning, I've spent a few hours in elimination to sharpen my aim and then performed pretty well with Widow. Are players being reported simply for superior aim and reflexes?

Watch the kill cam. There are some obvious ones.

Personally, I had a friend who would use KBM until he got upset that he wasn't climbing as quickly as he assumed he would with an "unfair advantage" and quit the game. So I'm pretty familiar with how it looks and I've seen a lot of Widows and McCrees who look like they're using it. I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt, though, unless they're also on an alt named something like "kbmhaxorlul."

Is there a form of software that would detect a converter for a mouse? I'm not very tech savvy, so I don't know.

I currenly play in high masters low gm in EU, got top 500 a couple of time. I play with and against top 500 daily, if I have to say the biggest difference from -3500 is the amount of "unfair circumstances" in most of the games.
I was documenting myself in the past about the number of mkb users and this is the main reason of my sub here. I got pretty good on widow, being called mkb user a lot of the time so maybe it was something like a "mass hysteria", and it was all fine until I passed mid master in s5.
Normally i would say there aren't many xim4 players since I can't prove it most of the time, but I swear 50% of the time a top 500 dps that don't use pharah is in voice chat I can hear the sound of his keyboard.
It might be a coincidence, but if I have to make a real % from that, well, it's pretty shocking. Plus I often find obvious boosting scenarios. Just take a look at some of the top 20 profiles on ps4.
I love this game; and everything is fine but I'm pretty competitive as a person, I accept the fact that there's always someone better than you no matter what, something can't be competitive to me if not fair.
However I'm fine, I tried everything to enjoy this game as I used to be when I was a diamond, instead I ended up buying a new pc. If you want to play with a mouse and a keyboard you're a competitive guy only if you're gonna play against people like you.

Yes, the last update was 4 months ago and they just said it is still coming. Phil Spencer and Mike Ybarra (2 Xbox heads) have both been quoted saying this.

Sigh, I hope they first spend two seconds exposing already-in-game deadzone settings so that i can at least comfortably play (regardless of still losing to m+kb) before pretending to waste another six months solving a misnomer of a problem regarding controllers vs m+KB -___-
