What to do on a cold Friday night?
My first time in the NE let alone Albany. What do people do for fun on Friday nights here? What bars should I go to? Where do the kids drink? Any shows tonight? Thanks!

Go drink around Troy.
I hate to break it to you..... this is not a cold Friday night. It's a balmy 25 out. I was outside today in just a fleece fucking around in the driveway with a shovel. I had to lay off throwing logs in the wood stove insert as it was too warm in the house. The last few weeks it's been gobbling firewood like cookie monster.
That all being said, bundle up and do what everyone else has suggested, have fun, and be safe!
Did you find anything exciting to do? I usually Uber/Lyft drive on the weekends because I never know what's going on... and I'm too socially awkward to actually GO to the bars! -__-;
I ended up going to the low beat and saw a really cool band play. Didn't really meet anyone, but overall, I feel like it was a success.
Considering upstate as anything north of the 5 boroughs is pretty useless geographically. Consider a NY strip steak. Now try to split it evenly. You get the downstate portion. If you consider the 5 bouroughs downstate, you get a little nub at the bottom.
Government departments call the 5 downstate because it helps break down people, not geography.
not again
What a buzzkill. This very question is why the internet was invented.
i was being sarcastic
Go you
TIL I live in Nebraska /s
Glad you found a good time in my home town.
You want this. For bars, go check out Madison Pour House if you like a good tap selection, or maybe City Beer Hall downtown.
Awesome! Thanks!
