These lines, although rhyming and weaved in that way, do not seem cohesive. Like they dont really go together IMO. Who's the brother? Why does the brother not sing? Needs context, maybe. 

I think it works. The ... and ?'s create a dream feel. Alas is a weird word to use, a bit archaic.

I don't think the colon is necessary, or grammatically correct. It's a bit distracting, I think an em dash would work much better to convey the pause. 

I feel like the first 4 lines are a stanza, however the formatting forces me to conitnue reading with a 'break' so these two lines

>Suffer do we still...

don't make a whole lot of sense if they are group together in one big piece as opposed separated by distinct stanzas. 

I have a only a feel about what this poem is about, but there are no concrete images that could point me in the direction of a firm understanding. It all feels a bit airy but insubstantial. You could work that ephemeral aesthetic into the poem's favor, but it will need to feel intentional rather than accidental. 

This is good, but it could use some fleshing out so it has an emotional anchor.
