Let's pump the brakes a bit

Some of the posts on this subject are just getting ridiculous. There are people seriously suggesting that Belichick resign or be fired. The man is still a probably top 3 coach in football history, if not the best. We're lucky to be coached by him, and lucky to have won 5 super bowls with him.

I know the loss hurt for a lot of us, but our team losing belichick would be possibly the dumbest thing we could do right now. The sun came out today, things are okay.

I'm here to give hugs if they're needed.

There were some similarities to the 2011 team, a bad defense with a good offense that lost the Super Bowl.

I think Belichick didn't count on losing Ninkovich and Hightower this season, didn't have sufficient depth at the position, and couldn't find sufficient replacements. Ultimately this one's on him because he couldn't find the personnel they needed and the Eagles exposed it.

Belichick/Brady will be back in the postseason and likely the SB, it's what they do.

Also had a LOAD of injuries to try and recover from.

No one is talking about this

Even the rookies we brought in, half of them were injured. We get Rivers back next year

DEVELIN WAS AT WR2 IN THE FUCKING SUPERBOWL

No one is asking for Belichick to resign, we do want to know why our #2 corner and one of best defenders was watching the game rather than playing in it. I can't recall a scenario like this happening in before and in a big game like this.

Agreed. Imagine instead if they benched Amendola the whole game and the offense flopped. People would be baffled. BB clearly doesn't have to explain his reasons to people, given his record, but still would be nice to know what actually happened--particularly because MB is a fan favorite.

Their are legitimately people calling for him to resign lol

I think there’s way more going on here than we know. BB could possibly be trying to protect Malcom from this info getting out as he hits free agency. Belichick‘s responsibility is to the team and to Kraft, not to fans, and as frustrating as it is, he deserves the benefit of the doubt until (if) we hear what happened.

Anyone who thinks belichick should be fired should go be a jets fan

Fam I got no patriots fans around me, so that hug would be legit lol. My brother who grew up a Seahawks fan has been nothing but respectful. So I got that

I was watching with Steelers fans and even they were feeling for us.

I think Bills lack of quality defensive drafting the last 4 years came back to bite us. out of the 15 defensive players drafted the 4 years Flowers and Brown are the only two quality picks.

BionicPotatoOP•

There's room to improve, agreed, but people are acting like he's Hue Jackson level incompetence.

This game specifically was pretty incompetent.

Expectations are low for Hue, not with Bill!

Expecting incompetence doesn't make you less incompetent.

Lack of quality defensive drafting? So are you not counting Chandler Jones and Jamie Collins as quality picks? Currently two of the best players in the NFL at their respective positions... Also Hightower (MLB/Defensive captain) was out all season; how do you replace that with draft picks? This issue clearly isn't drafting...

LAST 4 YEARS, Chandler and Collins(who isn't one of the best players at his position) were traded. Hightower playing or not wouldn't have made a difference. There's no LB depth because we drafted 3 linebackers in the last 4 years and Elandon Roberts was the only one to make the roster. We've succeeded in FA with Long, Sheard, Revis, Browner, Guy and Gilmore but nothing long term.

Hightower has some serious durability issues. Dude is guaranteed to miss at least 2 games a season and he missed more than half the season this year.

Jamie Collins is far from one of the best players in the nfl at LB. He's got a 35.9 on PFF and has clearly flamed out in Cleveland.

I'll give you Chandler Jones though. He's still doing good work in Arizona

Top 3? The man is GOAT no question

BionicPotatoOP•

I was just leaving room if people wanted to argue, I think he's the very best to ever do it.

2

I don’t want B.B. fired. I would like him to look for the big picture sometimes. Sure we don’t know if playing Butler would have made a difference but we now know for a certainty that playing Richards/Rowe/Bademosi didn’t work! They should be in the hospital intensive care for getting burned so badly.

Xanny_Tanner•

Have people seen the guys who coach the teams that didn’t play last night? Belichick could’ve sat Gronk and Hogan and I’d still take him over pretty much all of them.

But looking at last night in a vacuum; what the fuck was that?

drf129•

I mean at the end of the day we were legit one play away from tying that game in the last second. We are not giving the eagles enough credit they were the best team in football all year long. This was not the only terrible game the defense had. I’m willing to bet we will be in the Super Bowl again next year. There’s so many fans acting as If this the end of the world. We still have the best coach in football the best quarterback ever and we will come back stronger!!!

Let’s gooo!!!
