Corrupted (?) LibreOffice document, any way to retrieve it?
So I had a pretty important document on LibreOffice Writer, but now when I try to open it it's just 3 pages of "#".
I've also tried opening it in the Notepad, in which it is pretty much blank. Has anyone seen something like this before, and is it possible to retrieve the text?
EDIT: I'm also not sure if this should be flaired as "Data recovery" or "Software", please tell me if I made a mistake.

FYI, to provide you a helpful response related to your environment, we will need to know important environmental details such as what OS you are using.
Windows has the VSS framework, which if you have backup with File History enabled then you should be able to restore to a previous version of the file that was captured during a scheduled back up. There are software applications that capture backups as well.
There is also file versioning software that can be used to maintain copies of previous versions for this very purpose. But if you don't have any backup and recovery strategy already in place then it may be difficult to recover the file to the previous state.
If LibreOffice has a temp backup built-in and follows conventional standards, then you will likely have a file with a '~' appended to the name with the same name as your document. If it exists, you can try opening that file to see if it contains your lost changes.
Good luck!
