Let's start a weekly movie watch club.

I'm sure this has been suggested many times before and even attempted, but I think it's worth trying again. This would give us all a chance to see films we wouldn't normally see on our own and allow us each to moderate each new pick. It would be great to get this going and also use our Discord channel to live chat while watching movies. Any thoughts? Am I being overly ambitious?

EDIT: It seems there's some enthusiasm for this idea--which is enough for me. Let's do this. I will create a second edit with a plan of how we should approach this and implement it into the sub. Keep the ideas flowing!

EDIT 2: The Plan

Alright everyone, I think it's worth getting started on this and we can build momentum as we go. My friends and I usually have movie nights together that we call "Beer and Fear" where we would do pairing of beer with the movies of choice. I think it would be a great name for our club, and here's what I'm thinking and please feel free to help build on this:

Beer and Fear Movie Club

• Each week we pick a new mod to give us their movie choice.
• The person then writes up a question sheet that can be used while watching the film. We will then use this during our discussion
• You make a choice of beer that you paired up with the movie (or non-alcoholic drink) that you think best suits the theme.
• We offer one night to live stream the movie for those who wish to watch and chat live, but give people the option to watch on their own time and pick up the discussion on the next meeting.

EDIT 3: This community continues to amaze me. Thank you for your interest in this and listening to my ideas. I want this to be something that would belong to all of us and we'd all get a chance to lead the group with movie suggestions. Right now, I'm waiting for mods to get back to me so I can know where to go from here. If I don't get a response then we can weigh other options of how to do this. While everyone is signing up/friending the group I will continue to with figuring out how this will be structured. It's very likely we may move this over to r/HorrorClub and revive that sub. Feel free to also help get us more visibility to the mods to show them you all want this to be official for this sub.
