Sex after top surgery?

NSFW

I loveeee my nipple sensation. I’m getting top surgery soon and I’m sad to lose those sensations. So here’s my question: to those who enjoyed nipples during sex, how was sex after getting top surgery? Did you miss it or anything?

I’m just wondering what everyone’s partners did since nipples no longer carried sensation. Thank you!

I had peri expecting to retain nipple sensation and was incredibly blind sided and disappointed when it did not return. Also unexpectedly, I was totally okay with it. The euphoria of having a flat chest more than made up for the loss, and I ended up finding new erogenous zones on my torso. You'll be just fine.

I had no sensation pre-top surgery and ended up loving the sensation I’ve gotten since having double incision 4 months ago. My nipples used to be completely numb due to years of binding, and now, for some weird reason, I love having them touched. It feels good to put pressure on them. No idea why, it’s not just in my head, but I’m probably an outlier.

What technique for top surgery are you going for? I had periareolar and still have the same level of sensation in mine. Maybe there is a method that doesn't need the free nipple grafts that works for you, this site suggests T-anchor for example but I don't have personal experience with it.

As a disclaimer, nipple sensation is never a guarantee, even with nipple sparing procedures.

I had a ton of chest sensation over all, not just nips - nothing now. I had DI with free nipple grafts.

to be fair, you had top surgery just a couple months ago, and sensation can take up to a year to fully return for DI. i had the same procedure and was totally numb at first, and now 6-7 months later it's all slowly coming back

Absolutely true.

My husband had a lot of erotic sensation in his nipples before double-incision surgery, and he worried he'd miss it afterwards.

He has good sensation in his chest and maybe even the slightest bit in his nipples a bit over 2 years post-op. He didn't hate his chest before surgery, but he absolutely loves it afterwards. He says he doesn't even think about it.

I'm not sure what you mean about what partners did, so I'm not sure if this answers your question... but I still touch his chest. We never had any kind of discussion about it or anything. I just noticed what felt particularly good to him and subconsciously shifted the way I touched him to the ways that felt best post-op.

I have ear-splitting sensation (like the kind that, when handled, maxes out the meters in my mainframe). So this sounds interesting re: taking it down a notch.

You're not totally out of luck; I'm 8 months out and have gotten a lot back. I didn't even realize it until someone started messing around with them. It was a nice surprise.
