Poet's fangirl

It's the most peculiar feeling
But every time I discover something new
That you tapped into a keyboard miles and sometimes years from here
I am momentarily tumbling in love
Head over heels over head over heels again
Down a flight of stairs
I crash into the bottom and look up
Disoriented by vertigo of the mind
Or some similarly impossible concept
And I rub my bruises and think,
Without caveat or hesitation,
“I love this man.”
The pulse of awe and simultaneous tingle of thought patterns touching
And then it's gone, and I realize I don't really know you at all
But oh, it was beautiful

This great, I’ve never really seen this as a theme and especially with this subreddit being all about posting your own stuff it’s great to know there are others who equally enjoy the read as they do the recognition. I thought the pacing was nice and the last couple of lines where by far the best and most invoking. I’ll be creeping your user history for more of your work now lol

You never know how your work is going to hit someone else! Thank you for all the specifics in your praise :)

Oh, this is awesome. I loved everything about this. It's imagery, its context. Bravo! 😁

Quite thought provoking, and a great piece of work. Not normally one for a passionate work, but this is great! It goes about the writing from several distinct angles and makes it much easier for a person to find relatable.

This is a really cool and fresh take on writing in general! I think one of my favorite parts was the "head over heels" idiom transitioning literally into the imagery of the narrator falling down the stairs. That was rather clever. I think you had a really strong last two lines, and the overall flow is pretty nice. Great job!

Yay, thanks! I was proud of that part; it felt like a very natural transition, somehow.

I like how you portrayed infatuation has a traumatic event. I found your third line confusing. "That you tapped into a keyboard miles and sometimes years from here". The imagery seem to abstract. I think your explaining social media. This is an important part of your poem that could be expanded with more details. Loved the ending that gratification is personal.

First of all, this is a great poem and also very relatable. However, the lines 'Disoriented by vertigo of the mind/ or some similarly impossible concept' feel unnecessary to me. I ended up lost in them and had to start the poem over to get back into it. Also, the line 'the pulse of awe and simultaneous tingle of thought patterns touching' was just amazing. Great poem!
