I remember getting the demo to Metal Gear Solid and after playing it. Calling my friends over. We each kept playing through the demo for hours. They left after 3 am and we all made it to work on time just to continue our discussion about the game.
Do you still have the original box for it?
Unfortunately no. My dad was adamant about throwing away the boxes and placing all our DVDs in large binders. I still have the manual somewhere though.
Ouch. That sucks, my dad did that with our DVDS and CDS but not with our games, even in the days of cardboard boxes
dude ive been sold games by many a demo!
Playstation Underground PS1 games were great. I bought a lot of the games that were on there and it started me on one of my favorite series, Armored Core.
Remember when demo discs were everywhere? Sometimes they came with issues of PlayStation magazine, and GameStop would often give them away for free when you spent a certain amount at their storefront.
Once I received a demo for Atlus' Steambot Chronicles, I played through it a few times and just had to have the entire thing. It remains one of my favorite RPGs even today, I highly recommend you give it a try if you haven't already. It will appeal especially to fans of localized JRPGs.
Demo on left, retail game on right. Interestingly enough, the demo is a blue CD, while the retail game is a silver DVD.
They still are everywhere.

I played the demo for burnout so many times. And that damn demo from CoD3. Burnout is the only game I was ever sold on
Yeah i had the demo for Burnout 3 in the extras of NFS:U2. I played the demo so many times i thought it might not even be worth getting the full game. For non-ps2 games, the Yoshi's Wooly World demo got me to buy the full game in like a day
Blue is a CD, holds up to 700mb and the sliver is a DVD which holds 2.7(2.4??) GB
DVD holds about 4400 megabytes per layer, so 8800 on dual layer. They say 4.7 GB, but I think that is metric measure.
Discs also say on the case and the dis if they are CD or DVD, and if they are dual layer
I was wondering why 4 and 7 both sounded right...
4.7 GB (and 9.4GB is a Dual Layer DVD, such as Gran Turismo 4).
