Physics II

How difficult is Physics II/L? I was planning on taking it over the summer along with Calc III, but is this a bad idea if I want 100% A's?

It also depends on your lecture professor. Every physics professor, even the ones with shitty rate my professor reviews, are easy in lab. Here are a few people to avoid for lecture if you want an A (by last name, they're fine in lab): Thackston, Kidonakis, Guzzi, Patrick and Wen.

Any particular suggestion for a good professor ?

Garofalo is a great choice. Tbh, the physics department here is notorious for being low quality and not having good instructors. I got lucky with a super easy dude years ago, but I've known people that have suffered with shitty professors. The easy ones either left or only teach trig based physics. In the summer Thackston usually teaches, but trust me, DON'T TAKE HIM. He's had classes of 96 students where there were only 3-5 A's at the end and a whole lot of D's and F's.

Its true that physics department of Ksu has got some really shitty professors considering how important it is and acts as a pre requisite for many core classes. Thanks for suggesting.

No problem. Also, I took a look at who's teaching Calc 3 this summer. It's Bo Yang and Jonathan Lewin. AVOID AVOID AVOID Lewin! He's literally the devil. One other thing you could look into doing is maybe taking the summer classes at another university. One of my friends took summer classes at GA State (organic chemistry), and the credit transferred without counting into his GPA. Contact your advisor though before doing that because not all classes can transfer to KSU.

It depends on what semester. 2212L was a breeze, you just show up for each lab, do the experiment, and very rarely did we have to do things outside of the scheduled lab time. If that wasn't merciful enough, there was also dropping. If you take any classes in the summer, 2212L would definitely be one to do.

I'd be doing 2212 with lab, so is the lecture part difficult?

If you keep up with the homework, the lecture shouldn't be much of an issue. Just remember how to apply formulas together and you'll be good.

The professor I had was great, but for the life of me I can't remember his name. He was really chill, though, and reasonable.

That's going to be a tough load for the summer, Calc 3 was like a 4 hour class 3 times a week during the summer
