I think that using parts of Frank Ocean lyrics doesn’t really work in the poem. I found it distracting but I liked the rest, try using more original content from your own life in order to really captivate the attention of the reader.

I particularly enjoyed the opening, and think the first line pulls you right in. The middle could use some specifics for more story. The last line to me felt the weakest. It sounds nice, but could do more here by offering some closure or raising a question toward the future.

"The only thing I own is patience" My favorite line of your poem. I love it. The only criticism I have is to make it more relatable than specific. And please judge my poem I just posted lol.

I appreciate the fact that it's succinct and all the lines are even. Poetry is about a general look as much as anything.

I think most of us can relate to this subject matter, which makes it pertinent.

I like the repetitve 'but', which personifies the insecurity of the author - the person who maybe only made fleeting eye contact on the subway or a bus.

I like it.
