The Lover, the Dreamer, and Me
#The Lover, the Dreamer, and Me
We grew up in a house at the end of the lane
The lover the dreamer and me
Three sisters so different yet so much the same
The lover the dreamer and me
One followed her heart, fell in love, settled down
And watered her own family tree
And when clouds thundered high, spread her roots through the ground
And found out what true love could be
One followed her art, through each step of the dance
And transformed all the things she could see
And the wind and the rain she broke with her hands
Into poems and other debris
One followed herself to the edge of a knife
But stopped at the edge of the sea
And found her way home through the darkest of nights
And tethered her ship in the lee.
Three girls grew apart, struck out on their own,
Set forth individually.
Three women grew brave, independent, and strong.
The lover, the dreamer, and me.
she said a thing... | ...and then she said another.
