How the hell did Lion and Finka get through testing to the live server?

Ela was already a terrible idea if you like balance but these two, it truly is amazing how wrong the balance department was when they thought this was a good idea.

Lion is completely OP, effectively using caveiras gadget whenever he wants, 3 times a round, without any effort, skill or danger. On top of that he has the best LMG, hands down. Seems good, no balance issues here, right? And i know, huurrr duuurrr just sit still. In a game where every shot can be deadly and mobility is everything this is just such a terrible idea.

Finka, although less OP than lion is still a bad idea and lazy design that just doesnt belong in rainbow. Buffing the entire team, whenever she wants, really? Did she stick a needle in every member of the team before deployment with a remote detonator? Are the devs fan of moba's and thought "hey this can totally work in a shooter"?

Its terrible design and even worse balance, every game I play I find myself wishing it was still year 1, patch 1, where the bullshit gadgets didnt exist yet. I'd rather play versus unnerfed blackbeard than in this meta and that statement makes me truly worried about the next ops ubi is gonna think of.

And yes, I've read ubi statement that the patch has just gone live and its too early to tell and we still need to find the best way to counter these new ops but thats horseshit, its the same excuse you used for ela when she was released. Everyone knew, day 1, she was overpowered.

As you should, if you stop learning you might as well quit. But that doesnt take away from my point, Im hardly a scrub as you implied in your first post. I truly believe this is gonna be the most imbalanced patch in this game's history

Lion is extreme easy to counter it’s really not hard if your not stupid. Finka is a bit overpowered but isn’t that bad.

You have 3 seconds warning to find spot to hide, then 3 seconds from that spot you can watch choke points from which attackers might push from. Its fairly balanced.

You know why it isn't that OP but you want to cry about it anyway.

Even then, you cry because you think the game is being "destroyed" by two unbalanced operators.

I may not have phrased it in the most eloquent way but the sit still argument might be fine as anchor but is useless when you're playing any other role.

And im definitely interested in any other argument you might think of

No other argument is needed. It's 3 seconds, with a three second warning.

Hurrr Durrr, find a safe spot and don't fucking move for three seconds. It really is that simple.

Give it time, lions ability is super easy to counter, and soon everyone will just stand still when lion scans ,yes lion can rush knowing your standing still, but if it did literally nothing then wouldn't be very useful for lion. Plus your not completely defenceless when standing still, you can look around crouch go prone, shoot, etc, some cases it's a good way to trick lion him self. For Finkas ability its likely its there for enjoyable content over a super realistic simulator. Although lion and dok can be seen differently, a lot of people thought she would be to op, being able to phone everyone on the map with no counter, but in many cases on defence when your phone rings it's a good warning sign that someones rushing.

I concur. Been diamond since season 1 as well. People on this subreddit usually have no idea what they're talking about. The developers don't have as much gamesense as we do and they don't have a community that can give the feedback they need. If only the developers would listen to people like us. It's truly unbelievable from a perspective of experience combined with common sense this game is heading this direction.

I haven't seen any evidence in this honestly. It's still easier to defend.

With a team of random players Lion is useless.

With an extremely coordinated team he is fantastic. To me, that's balanced.

All I do is roam, and he hasn't given me too much trouble. The only issue I have is when you get droned out, and then he activates his ability.

You have an extremely tough choice to make at that point.

Not really. Lion and Finks barely changed anything and Blitz users are now even easier to kill because they gotta go fast. The only cleaver combo I seen is a Lion and Dokkebi wumbo combo. People are just complaining a little to much because they actually have to change their strats a little.

i dont understand what is the problem with the new operators? is the problem the fact that the meta changed? because i think the meta didnt change enough. this game is meant to evolve, and make players evolve and stay on their toes

What I meant is that global abilities are broken in a sense they don't belong in this type of game (FPS with one shot one kill opportunities all the time). I'm not talking about balancing per se.

The risk with Lion is how you act on the information you just got. It can be very, very misleading.

You do realize Lion's ability is useful ONLY during and after the diffuser planting, don't you?

Elsewhere, with map knowledge, you can always get to a slim angle and lion just wasted one charge of his.

As for Finka, throw a smoke at the player and he's out.
