Vegan Fiction?

Discussion

I've been recreationally reading a lot more this year and it got me thinking (books, amirite?). There are so many novels that take place in the future and/or feature a character who by whatever means ends up being dropped into the future. I guess I'm just surprised I've never come across a narrative where the character gets to the future, goes into a grocery store and says "where's the meat?" and everyone looks at them like "are you insane? We stopped eating animals years ago. Only the 'savages' eat animals now." or something like that. Not that it would be the entire basis of the story, but just interesting it isn't touched on by anyone. No vegan authors out there or am I reading the wrong books? Can someone write a novel like this for me?
