Injured index fingernail
Hello!
I'm a 20 years old (european) guy, weighing ~90kg (~200 pounds) at a height of ~195cm (~6'4'') and hadn't any medical problem since now. I'm not taking any meds right now (I rarely do), and as far as I can say I'm pretty healthy.
Now, my problem is that two days ago I slammed my index finger with a car door and 90% of my nail turned black and cracked horizontally. I'm worried about that it might not regrow normally (as I've been said). What do you think about my nail? Do you think it will regrow back normally?
Pics: WARNING (it's not NSFW or gross in my opinion, but you might not like what you see) https://imgur.com/a/5NDMI
P.S: From some friends which are pursuing a medical degree I found out the nail will turn out to be ok if the "laluna" and the "nail matrix" aren't damaged, but they haven't said anything about my finger. Do you think there is any damage to the matrix or to the laluna by looking at these photos? As I can see the crescent at the base of the nail is white (although the rest of the nail if black purple), but doesn't have a regular shape.
Also, are there any foods that I can eat in order to make my nail grow faster? (beacause, as I understood, this would mean a faster healing)
Even you don't have a medical advice (or aren't sure about how it will heal), but have any similar story, please share it as it might help me make an image about how it will heal (although it might not heal the same way).
Thank you a lot and sorry for this wall of text!
