Does Unplugging a Dryer save me money?

My electric bill jumped about 30% after getting an electric dryer (older model). I'm not sure if the two are correlated. We do not use AC or heating as I live in Hawaii. Would unplugging my dryer when it is not being used save me money on my electric bill?
