How to force Android to connect to a specific AP

Acknowledging that this is an Android question, not a Ubiquiti question, but I think it is apropos.

My home network has 4 Unifi APs, all with the same SSID. Once my phone connects to one of the APs (say, perhaps when I come home), how will it know to switch to a different AP when there's a better signal? Is there anything I can do to force it to happen? I have tried putting the phone in airplane mode and then taking it out, while checking with the Network Monitor II app to see which AP it is connected to, and that does usually work, but I was wondering if there is a better way.
