The Road to El Dorado and Atlantis: The Lost Empire are connected, while being made by different companies.
OK, so I have a theory about the two films The Road to El Dorado/Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Made by two different companies, one being Dreamworks and the other Disney right?
However, they both came out around the same time, and have very very similar animation styles. (Truthfully I'm not sure how that would come into play but)
But, in ED(El Dorado) when Tzekel-Kan continues with the ritual of the jaguar, the jaguar statue becomes powered right
Have you ever noticed the hue of the eyes? It's a slightly ominous blue shade, not too vibrant though
As seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bonQ3fl7GY
Bonus: When he's performing the ritual, a blue lightning shoots out at him and goes through his body, as seen here (bad quality sorry, only link I could find) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lcvjSFOwLA
Furthermore, in Atlantis, all the fish, the floating heads and the source of their life comes from these blue crystals. In the scene where the princess Kida gets taken under the city into where the Heart of Atlantis is. They glow a bright blue around her, and the eyes of the faces light up... with a blue hue that isn't too vibrant as seen here: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/disney/images/c/cf/Atlantis-disneyscreencaps.com-7373.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20131002155424
And finally, at the end when Lyle Rouke goes crazy, and tries to smash the container holding Kida, Milo tabes a piece of glass shard that has a blue glow, and blue lightning coming from the end as seen in the video below.

Theory is: The movies have a connected universe, and the power that powers both the jaguar, and the city of atlantis, is the same
