Looking for resources on Python's principles and design

I'm taking a computer science class Principles of Programming Languages and we need to analyze Python from a designers view. Can anyone point me in the direction of some documentation that might have this type of information? I've tried looking at the Python docs but there is a lot (which isn't bad) and I'm not sure where to start.
