US, $1000-$1600, 13"-15", 2-1 laptop for drawing/art

Valid Form
  • Total budget and country of purchase: A soft bound of $1600, though I could be pushed to spend more if a little more money brings a big improvement.

  • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Definitely 2 in 1 and good battery life (at least > 6hrs). Needs to have pen support. Display quality is also nice but is secondary to the aforementioned.

  • How important is weight and thinness to you? portability is important. I'd say less weight matters more to me than thinness.

  • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. Windows

  • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 13"-15"

  • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Photoshop, Autodesk Sketchbook.

  • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? I do game so a laptop that can support that would be nice, but it's not a priority. (I suspect that a computer that can run photoshop would be able to run most games anyway).

  • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? I'm primarily looking for a portable laptop for drawing and art so features that help with would be nice (comes with/supports a pen, drawing responsiveness, good battery life, keyboard doesn't get in the way when in tablet mode).
