Chem Bug of Feature?

So I was running Nuka World for the first time and when clearing the gauntlet I had to pop some Rad X. Later I noticed that every time it wore off my character would pop another one eventually going through my whole supply. Now if this was something I turned on and could turn off again it’s a neat feature or was it just a bug?
