Lost my primary motivation for learning Japanese

Two months ago I began to rigorously study Japanese in anticipation for a job I might get there. Going from zero knowledge of the language, I began Rosetta Stone, Duolingo, flash cards, sticky notes, all of it. I spent at least 3 hours every day studying.

Today, I was turned down for the position. All motivation has drained out of me and I feel as though all the time I spent trying to learn a new language has been a waste. Have any of you gone through something similar? What pushed you to keep going?
