Help pairing new remote to Vizio sound bar

Earlier today I had a cable guy come by and install 3 new Optimum Altice cable boxes. Aside from an issue with the cloud DVR not working, which they are going to fix eventually, the only problem I have is getting the new remote to link to my sound bar. Audio is coming through the sound bar, and the new remote will mute the audio, but I can’t get it to actually control the volume. I really don’t want to keep my old remote out just for volume control. Any help would be appreciated.
