Is agile development all there is anymore?

Hey guys,

So, I'm currently searching for a new job, and for the sake of trying something new I'm trying to find a position that is not agile oriented. While I have no problems with (most) of agile in theory, in practice it tends to be poorly implemented and gets in the way of writing software.

I have yet, however, to find a position that isn't advertised as an agile position. Hell, the last person I interviewed basically told me that being uninterested in agile meant I "disliked working with others and preferred working in a bubble", which is kind of insulting.

Am I just having a run of bad luck, in a bad area, or is software almost entirely focused around this methodology nowadays?
