Luffy shichibukai (or should I say Hachibukai) foreshadowing?
In anticipation of chapter 900 I've been going back and rereading all the 100th chapters of OP just to get a feel for what sort of reveal we should be expecting, and I stumbled upon this.
In chapter 200 when Luffy initiates his second fight with crocodile, there is a scene where he yells something along the lines of "If you're a shichinukai... I'll become the Hachibukai!" (shichi is Japanese for 7, hachi is Japanese for 8).
At first, it seemed like just a silly gag but in the context of One Piece now... Could Luffy become a Shichibukai? I know a lot of people have been speculating that at the Revier the abolishing of the shichibukai system but what if instead they decided to invite Luffy to be a part of the Shichibukai? The straw hats definitely have enough allies sitting at the Revier table to make it happen. And it would give the crew some political clout that they could leverage in their upcoming fight against Kaido?
