Updating SQL Express installs across a domain

I just got handed a list of SQL Express workstation installations that are running SQL versions that are out of support. They vary from SQL 2008 to SQL 2014. A service pack upgrade would bring them to a supported version.

What are the best practices to keep these SQL Express editions up to date? Should I be talking to the WSUS admin to see if these can be pushed out via WSUS?
