There has been lots of talk about the volume of Call options on AMD. What does that mean exactly?

(I'm very new to Options so please forgive me newbishness)

Lots of rumors going around that "Someone must know something, good or bad" on AMD because of the Call volumes.

With such a high volume of call options with strike prices being higher than the current stock price, wouldn't that mean someone is betting on good news?
