I think I will cut some of my family out of my life rather than tell them.
The people on one side of my family are very religious and I know not all religious people have trouble with accepting gay and/or transgender people, but given that plenty of the people on that side of the family are older and religious, I don't think I will involve them much if at all with my life if and when I come out and transition. The other side of the family can be okay at times, but aren't always very nice, so I don't think I will have much interaction with them. The people in my family I come out to will be asked not to tell them. I will interact with them over the phone, through Facebook, and/or through email so that I still interact with them, but they don't know about this. I have thought about making a different account on Facebook and adding only the people who know and are accepting. Basically, keeping parts of the family in the dark about it or at least trying to keep them in the dark. I just don't want to have to hear about them not accepting me if they choose not to especially if they say it has something to do with religion. People tend to pick what they want to believe from religious texts and leave out other parts.
