Pretentiousness in Film

I want to comment on the pretentiousness in films discussion. I think a movie like Sausage Party is the perfect example. A movie that put a message of anti-religion in a movie that wasn't smart enough to have anything funnier than food puns. When the writers surround a message in a film with nothing but garbage, it starts to become like "God's not dead". Looking down on those who don't think like them. The best types of movies that can change the way one thinks are movies like This is England. It doesn't look down too harshly on racists, it portrays them as actual people that the audience can understand. Idk, I hope this is just a bit of a conversation starter in this subreddit.
