Does Gaviscon work for you?

Hey, new here to GERD, about a month ago I started getting pretty bad acid reflux, almost every time I ate, but it wasn’t severe enough to bother me. Now for the last five days my throat and esophagus have been burning non stop even if I don’t eat.

Everywhere I read online says Gaviscon is supposed to be the best thing for immediate relief, but I haven’t noticed any difference after taking it. Zantac sometimes helps relieve the pain but not that much and it takes a while to kick in.

I’m seeing a doctor tomorrow to talk about it, maybe get an endoscopy (I barely even know what it is), but I’m wondering if anyone else here also finds Gaviscon to not work for them?

PS - I’ve also had severe stomach and intestinal cramping and pain for the past five days, do you think that could be connected?
