Privacy with an open door - ideas?

I am working on moving out, but will need to stay with my Ndad for a few more months. He goes out of his way to be loud at 4 in the morning, turn lights on, talk on the phone - but the worst thing is that he will walk around in his underwear and urinate loudly with the door wide open, causing me to have panic attacks almost every morning. I have a cat that constantly needs to go in and out, so I have to keep the door open a crack, and he refuses to put in a cat door because he likes my door to be open . Does anyone have advice on how to keep my privacy/sanity, for example something to block the light/ sound? I've been searching the internet for something specifically to just cover the crack in the door but will still let the cat in. I would really appreciate any ideas anyone has, thank you.
